“I can’t to finished it because questions of the test not related to my field.”

“My bos hates me..”

“Peoples who has a good relation and a little lucky, i think their will be more success than other that have a good academics”

An so on..

Hmn…guysss, do you know? Statements like above often we said in daily conversation. In psychology, that is a defense mechanism. Defense mechanisms is strategies the ego uses to defend itself against the anxiety provoked by conflicts of everyday life. Like statements that you have read above.

So, i will to explain for you about examples from defense mechanism. Check it out!😀

The first, we can call it is repression. Repression is a defense mechanism that involves unconscious denial of the existence of something that causes anxiety. For example, a child have a terrible accident that made his parents died. After it, he can’t to remember all about that accident. He has repressed it unconscously to decreased his anxiety.

The 2nd, rationalization. Rationalization is a defense mechanism that involves reinterpreting our behavior to make it seem more rational and acceptable to us. For example, when you were playing playstation, you miss a trick to be a winner. So you may feel angry at your stickplayer and throw it to the floor. You will say, “Something is wrong with the stickplayer not my playing!”. Maybe this defense same with above statement that “I can’t to finished it because questions of the test not related to my field.”

The 3rd, denial. Denial is a defense mechanism that involves denying the existence of an external threat or traumatic event. For example i think one of statements above appropriate with this defense. It is “Peoples who has a good relation and a little lucky, i think their will be more success than other that have a good academics”. If we tried to analysis it we can found that she/he hasn’t a good academics so she/he tries to denial his weakness with think “peoples who has a good relation with a little lucky better than other without it.”

The 4th, reaction formation. Reaction formation is a defense mechanism that involves expressing and id impulse that is the opposite of the one that is truly driving the person. For example, a woman doesn’t like her friend, but she shows carry well for her friend. Her behavior very contradiction.
